Hi, I'm Tyana
I come from a little town in Belgium. But this is not the only place where I grew up. As a young child, I lived for over 5 years in India with my mother and brother. There, I experienced a variety of vibrant cultures - and particularly, a rich tradition of handicrafts. Having learned to enjoy precision work early on, I knew what I wanted to do: create with my hands!
Back in Belgium, I was diagnosed with dyslexia, which explained my troubles in school. Nevertheless, I finished my fashion education and was trying for a career as a designer. I realized, however, that creating clothes alone was not fulfilling enough. After some time of searching and reflection, I stumbled upon the International Lutherie School of Antwerp (ILSA). Here, I found my passion for instrument building, and an even stronger one for woodworking.
After my studies, I returned to my hometown in Belgium, where I met my husband, who was already pursuing an academic career. This involves a considerable amount of traveling and relocation, offering us the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of environments and perspectives. During that time, I also became a mother.
At the start of 2025, we moved to the lovely city of Vienna. And it was there that I finally felt ready to take the next step in my crafting career.
My work is a way for me to express myself, and I strive to offer authentic, creative pieces crafted to the highest standard. I love to engage people in my work, and I am very open about my process. In fact, I often stream my work online on Twitch - feel free to pass by and say hello.
Love,
Tyana
